Two children and a woman were killed in a car crash in Willowbrook Monday morning.
The two-vehicle accident happened at about 7 a.m. at the intersection of Mona Blvd. and 119th St. in Willowbrook.
According to CHP officials, a white Cadillac was southbound on Mona Blvd. A beige Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was turning left onto northbound Mona Blvd. from 119th St. The two vehicles slammed into each other and hurtled up onto the sidewalk. The SUV rolled over.
After the accident, the Cadillac driver attempted to flee the scene, but was subdued by a witness.
The SUV had seven passengers. Two children, girls ages 8 and 3, were pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident. An adult female occupant of the SUV later died at the hospital. A one-year-old boy suffered moderate injuries.
The Cadillac had no passengers.
CHP officers detained the Cadillac driver for questioning. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
