Under California law, a dog owner is strictly liable for injuries caused by his or her dog. Injuries resulting from dog attacks can be extremely traumatic, both physically and psychologically. Cosmetic surgery may be necessary. If the injury is to a child, cosmetic surgery may be necessary when the child is older. Often times, psychological counseling is necessary.
At McGee, Lerer and Associates, our attorneys have extensive experience representing dog bite victims. If you need cosmetic surgery, or psychological counseling, but cannot afford to pay for it upfront, we can refer you to the appropriate medical provider near you who will treat you on a lien basis, which means the doctor agrees to wait to be paid until your case settles.
