A motorcyclist was killed Thursday in an accident in Downey.
According to the Downey Police Department, the accident happened just after 9 p.m. on Imperial Highway near Ardis Ave. The motorcyclist, who was riding a Honda CBR, was westbound on Imperial Highway. The motorcyclist was passing a GMC Safari van, which was being driven by a 49-year-old woman. The van and the motorcycle collided.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van was not injured.
Police have not released the names of the parties involved. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
