A pair of 11-year-old twin girls were injured when they were hit by a car while they were crossing a street in Studio City on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened about 1:34 p.m. at the intersection of Colfax Ave. and Moorpark St. The accident happened a few block from the girls' school, Walter Reed Middle School.
According to unconfirmed reports, the twin girls ran across the street, through a red light, and were not in a crosswalk.
Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic is still investigating the accident. According to Sergeant Ed Waschak, initial reports show the driver was not at fault for the accident. The driver, not the pedestrians, had the right-of-way.
Both girls were transported to a local hospital, accompanied by a school administrator. One of the sisters suffered critical injuries and the other suffered serious injuries.
