A car accident in Long Beach on Wednesday left one driver dead and another injured.
The accident happened at 4:17 p.m. near the intersection of Carson St. and Los Coyotes Diagonal. Driver Michael Morell, a 67-year-old Stanton resident, was eastbound on Carson in a 1991 Isuzu truck. He turned left onto southbound Los Coyotes Diagonal. Morell crossed over the center median and slammed into a 2002 Toyota Sequoia being driven by a 41-year-old Long Beach resident, who was westbound on Carson St.
Morell was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead. The 41-year-old Long Beach driver was injured and transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
