4 killed in Lancaster Car Crash

Four people were killed after their vehicles collided in a Lancaster intersection Saturday evening.

The accident happened at the intersection of 10th Street East and Avenue G. The driver of a 1999 Honda Civic that was northbound on 10th St. East ran a stop sign and slammed into a 1997 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. After colliding, both vehicles rolled into a ditch.

Four people died in the crash: the driver of the Honda Civic, two passengers in the Civic, and a passenger in the Tacoma.

The California Highway Patrol has identified the deceased driver of the Civic as 22-year-old Marissa Fritz of Lancaster. Her two deceased passengers have been identified as 17-year-old Brianna Heyrend and 17-year-old Roland Mohan. The deceased passenger of the Tacoma has been identified as 49-year-old Arturo De La Torre of Lancaster.

Two passengers in the Civic were also injured: 20-year-old Adrian Ruiz of La Mirada and 19-year-old Steven Heyrend. Also injured was the driver of the Tacoma: 34-year-old Erazmo Arroyoayala of Lancaster.

According to the CHP, the young people in the Honda Civic were not wearing seatbelts.

Authorities are investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the car crash.
