A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a big rig on the 60 Freeway in South El Monte.
The accident happened on the eastbound 60 near Peck Rd. about 6:35 p.m. According to initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the big rig did not stop. The accident remains under investigation. It is unclear at this time whether the big rig driver knew he or she had struck the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist, a 30-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
